P&B’s Gift Guide For The Girls

Friends can be so much fun to shop for. Whether you’re new friends or go way back, getting a friend something nice can show them how much you value their friendship.

Here are some ideas that will show your friends your love.

  1. Honest Beauty Products – Honest Beauty is a relatively new company started by Jessica Alba that promises to deliver high-quality, organic makeup and beauty products. Any friend will appreciate the nice, new products to test out.
  2. Craft – If you’re short on cash, a craft can always be a great idea. In some instances, a homemade gift can seem even more thoughtful since you are putting your time and energy into making a friend something fabulous. An easy and fun craft to make is the braided t-shirt rug. With a few simple steps you can go from piles of t-shirts to yarn to braids to a rug. The craft can take some time, so make sure you give yourself ample time to complete it. Not a great sewer? No problem. Instead of sewing the braids together, simply use a piece of fabric and fabric glue to complete the craft.
  3. Beauty Box – Whether you gift a Birchbox or similar subscription service to a friend or make up a beauty box of your own, you can never go wrong with gifting beauty products. By creating your own “box” for a friend, you can include some of your favorite beauty items and products you know your friend loves or wants to try. Include anything from nail polishes to face masks.
  4. Celebrity Memoirs – Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me? was released in September and is the perfect gift for your book- and pop culture-loving friend. Celebrity memoirs can be fun to read and if it’s anything like her previous book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, she’ll be sure to love it. Entertainment Weekly gave the book an A-. Another book recently released is Drew Barrymore’s Wildflower. The book details her life growing up in Hollywood.
  5. Cookbook – It’s never too late to learn how to cook. My mom always said, “If you can read, you can cook.” For those in their 20s—whether you’re still in college or living out in the real world— figuring out what to cook and actually doing it can have great health benefits. Try gifting Eat Yourself Calm. It’s the perfect cookbook for those feeling the stress of jobs or just day to day life.
  6. Sweater Blanket – With the cold weather, gifting blankets will never be a bad option. Not only will it keep them warm, but it can add to the overall interior style of their dorm or apartment. We love this sweater knit blanket from Target and it comes in so many different colors.
  7. Coffee Mug/Coffee – Everyone can use a coffee mug, especially an adorable one. And why not add some special treats inside, as well? Customize their gift by getting a mug with their initial on it. Add some coffee, tea, or tea accessories for an added bonus.
  8. Something Sparkly – Shop Sweet & Spark for something truly unique and vintage. The father-daughter team who runs the company seeks special, one-of-a-kind, vintage jewelry. The pieces are so diverse, there is something for everyone.
  9. Bath Bombs – There’s a lot of de-stressing needed for women in their 20s. Whether you just got through a long week of tests or your job really tested your limits, taking a nice relaxing bath at the end of a long week can really turn a stressful week into an enjoyable weekend. A favorite bath accessory is the bath bomb. While many stores sell their own version of this, Lush sells an affordable product with many different options to choose from. Order some for a friend and a couple for yourself while you’re at it. You won’t regret it.
  10. Candles – If you want to gift a candle look no further than Bath and Body Works or Yankee Candle. Or purchase one from The Little Market who’s mission is to “connect artisans with customers through an online marketplace where each object comes with the story of the artist’s community, the creative process, and the fair trade practices in place. We connect customers with artisans creating one-of-a-kind goods with a design sensibility that reflects their culture and traditions. We follow fair trade practices that honor the skills of the artisan and demonstrate respect for her gifts. We acknowledge the interdependency of people around the world and our responsibility to help others.” So why not support this great organization while giving your friend a thoughtful gift?
